Burbank Halloween Delivers a Seasonal Playground
October sets the Burbank stage for crisp autumn evenings, themed festivities and crafty pumpkin-inspired décor.
As the Media Capital of the World, it’s no surprise Burbank offers some of the most imaginative costumes and special effects when it comes to an epic Halloween scene. From sensational theme park nights to spooky shopping and costumes-galore, Fall fun takes over the town during October. Whether you’re trying to transform your home into a Fall Fairytale or create the perfect costume, this list of seasonal must-do’s goes beyond trick or treat.

Halloween Horror Nights
Halloween Horror Nights is one of the most anticipated fall events in the LA region. Universal Studios Hollywood enhances the seasonal fear each year through themed scare tactics and creepy rides. With an extended stay at the park, patrons can shudder through the dread with The Weeknd’s Haunted House, the Terror Tram (with a new stop in the twisted head of Jordan Peele’s) and Scare Zones frighteningly staged to perfection!
Son of MonsterPalooza
Son of MonsterPalooza brings more spookiness to town. From October 14-16, 2022, the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Convention Center brings together all aspects of the horror movie industry with more than 150 vendors, unique exhibits, special celebrity guests and more! Single-day tickets start at $30 and 3-day passes go for $70.
On October 22, 2022, Skate Oddity is hosting a nightmare on skates at the LA Kings Burbank Sports Center. Roll around in your best 80’s horror movie flare and enjoy the nostalgia as it takes over the venue. Skate or blade as your favorite villain to 80’s vinyl, postpunk and darkwave. The doors open at 4:30 and close at 9:30 pm with general admission tickets starting at $20 pre-sale, and $25 at the door.
Boo at the Zoo
Every day in October from 10 am to 4 pm, decked out Halloween-themed exhibits and costumes will add the seasonal spirit to the animal kingdom. The weekends include an extra layer of excitement with outdoor live shows, animal pumpkin feedings, themed photo opportunities and more! Admission to this family-friendly event is included with a general zoo ticket purchase.
There is no better time for dark art than during the month of October. Known to celebrate dark, lowbrow, and underground art, the Hyaena Gallery captures the essence of the season through their spell-bound exhibits creating endless wonder. With all forms of expression being honored, the exhibit stays interesting, albeit a bit scary. The gallery is open to the public from 11 am to 5 pm daily.
This Magnolia Park museum loves a good ghost story. The Mystic Museum highlights paranormal, mysticism and Halloween-inspired demonstrations. Prep for a proper evening out with scary movie nights, ghost investigation and interactive immersive experiences. The exhibit runs Monday through Friday from 11 am to 7 pm and tickets cost $16 and are only available for in-store purchase.
