The 2022 AME Institute is a four-day, live professional event designed to provide Arts, Media, and Entertainment teachers the experiences, resources, information, and training that helps to ensure California’s next generation of AME workforce is prepared for their future.

The Arts, Media, & Entertainment Industry Sector (AME) ranks among the top three revenue generating industries in the state of California and employs more than 2.5 million people. A top priority for the California Department of Education (CDE) is ensuring the next generation AME workforce is prepared to meet and exceed projected industry needs. The AME Institute (AMEI) is the largest annual professional convening of AME educators and industry professionals in the state. In fact, it is the only professional learning event dedicated solely to AME Career Technical Education (CTE) in the country. The 8th annual AMEI will take place in Burbank, CA – “The Media Capital of the World” June 20-23, 2022 and will welcome more than 400 educators, administrators, industry leaders, tech innovators, and funders to meet in person for the first time since the start of the pandemic.

The event will begin with Visit Burbank Day on Monday, June 20. Attendees will take part in a self-guided hunt for “Filmed in Burbank” locations, Warner Bros. Studio tours, a special intensive workshop from Flappers Comedy Club University, and more.

Tuesday, June 21 kicks off programming in a big way – right where media magic happens – on the Warner Bros. Studio Lot. Warner Bros. Discovery Executive Vice President of Operations, Dan Dark will provide the welcome-keynote address to educators and invited VIPs in the Steven J. Ross Theater, followed by a panel discussion facilitated by DOLBY, and lunch on the historic Brownstone Street. An evening VIP Welcome reception at Woodbury University hosted by industry giants WACOM and TOON BOOM will close the day setting the stage for June 22-23 workshops, Externships, tours, expert panels and networking from partners including The Walt Disney Company, Nickelodeon Animation Studios, Lulu Washington Day Theatre, Center Theatre Group, BRIC Foundation, Music Forward Foundation, IATSE Local 80 and more.
