Burbank’s Acclaimed 10th Annual Film Festival
The Media Capital of the World Kicks Off This Whirlwind International Festival for Five Exciting Days, September 5-9.
The 10th Annual Burbank International Film Festival will present a lineup of more than 200 feature and short films representing 60 countries from September 5 through 9, 2018 – and you’re invited to join in. This can’t miss, five-day event will include: film screenings starring top-rated actors, multicultural films, artist tributes, Q&A panels, red carpet arrivals, after parties, receptions, and networking opportunities galore!
Each day is packed with exciting events, screenings, and parties – here are just a few of the festival highlights:
WEDNESDAY
Opening the festival on Wednesday at 7pm is the prestigious 2018 President’s Innovation Award winner, THE CATCHER WAS A SPY, a gripping, stranger-than-fiction, espionage thriller that traces the incredible true story of Moe Berg – a professional baseball player for the Boston Red Sox who is recruited to become a real-life World War II spy and assassin. The film was directed by Ben Lewin, and stars Paul Rudd, Jeff Daniels, Paul Giamatti, Mark Strong, Sienna Miller, and Guy Pearce. A gala reception will follow immediately after the film.
THURSDAY
On Thursday night at 9pm, sci-fi movie lovers can indulge in ELEVEN, ELEVEN, an out-of-this-world comedy about a UFO fanatic who risks his family to fulfill a lifelong dream of being abducted.
FRIDAY
Friday evening at 8pm brings a special sneak preview of the thriller, FOLLOWED, starring John Savage, Sam Valentine, and Blanca Blanco. An after-party will immediately follow the screening at the IATSE 80 Soundstage in Burbank.
SATURDAY
Saturday offers an exciting array of events and screenings including a 7pm special Q&A panel with Gary Lockwood, star of 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY.
EXCLUSIVE AFTER-PARTIES ON BOTH FRIDAY & SATURDAY NIGHTS – Following your attendance at a Friday or Saturday evening film event, your official wristband will get you free access into star-studded after parties, complete with open bars, DJs, dancing, and an opportunity to mix it up with filmmakers, celebrity guests, and cosplayers.
SUNDAY
Sunday’s all-day events culminate with a CLOSING NIGHT AWARDS GALA at the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel at 5:30 pm. This glittering finale will include red carpet arrivals, a cocktail reception, a three-course meal, and an Awards Show.
