The filming took up all seven of Warner Bros. Studios large Burbank soundstages. The streets of ‘Gotham City’ use the old Brownstone Street and Hennessy Street (which was built for the film of Annie) on the backlot – where the TV series was shot back in the Sixties.

Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center acts as “Pacific Mercy Hospital,” where wife Sarah (Michelle Monaghan) goes into labor.

The diner was featured twice in the 1995 heist movie Heat. First as the restaurant where a fresh-out-of-prison Donald Breedan (aka Dennis Haysbert) got hired as a janitor/cook. Towards the end of the movie, it shows up in the scene in which Neil McCauley (aka Robert De Niro), Michael Cheritto (aka Tom Sizemore), and Chris Shiherlis (aka Val Kilmer) convince Donald to be the driver for their upcoming bank heist.

The final scenes of the film, where the t-rex is brought back to the United States, were filmed on San Fernando Blvd in Downtown Burbank. The scenes were made to look like the city of San Diego where the t-rex escapes from the container ship and causes havoc throughout the city.

Some camera trickery and crafty editing was used to make the hotel appear as if it was located on Sunset Boulevard in the movie
