AfroAnimation Summit 2024 Celebrates Diverse Talent in the Entertainment Sector

AfroAnimation 2024 Resume and Portfolio Reviews
AfroAnimation is the largest annual event featuring diverse and underrepresented animators, gamers, and creators, and is returning to Burbank at the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel, April 10 – 12, 2024. The 4th Annual AfroAnimation Summit (AAS 4.0) will include a focus on gender representation in the industry, spotlight the gaming and V/R industries, launch a new international film ceremony celebrating diversity in animation and the arts, and bring together the largest coalition of industry leaders and animation studio executives, artists, and creative talent to date, to help drive an increase in inclusive representation throughout the entertainment industry.

Last year’s event featured Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse co-producer Peter Ramsey, who headlined a powerful collection of more than 60 industry leaders at the summit. A similar star-studded lineup of speakers, awardees, and attendees are expected this year, along with hundreds of local high school and college students. Recruiters representing major Hollywood animation studios will be onsite to connect with, interview, and hire diverse talent. Last year’s event attracted artists, creators, animators, producers, storytellers, character designers, writers, voice over talent, VFX artists, and film/TV executives.

Event activations include: Live Illustration Competition, Dolby Music Cafe, Immersive Gaming Experience, Internship Corner, Icon Awards Luncheon, FRWD Awards Dinner, and an Independent Short Film Competition. Event sponsors include: Sony Pictures Animation, DreamWorks Animation, Nickelodeon, LAIKA Studios, Xence Labs, and more.
