Visit Burbank’s New Speakeasy Lounge, The Green Room
The newly opened Green Room, a hidden cocktail lounge at Castaway restaurant, offers a premier dining experience tucked within the hills overlooking Burbank.
Castaway itself received a $10 million renovation this past summer, elevating the restaurant’s interior, cuisine and service. From its meat dry-aging room and floor-to-ceiling wine cellar to the charcuterie station and multi-level patio, Castaway is not just a restaurant, it’s an experience.
This elevated feeling is carried into The Green Room, an intimate lounge fashioned after the green rooms in theaters and studios of Burbank where stars relax off stage. After walking through a hidden door to enter the secluded space, guests are greeted with a welcome Absinthe cocktail before being escorted to their reserved table.
While enjoying unique bites and an immersive cocktail experience, guests can relax on the patio that showcases unparalleled views of Burbank and Downtown Los Angeles. Like its ambiance, The Green Room’s menu is sophisticated and grand.
No matter your preference, the talented bar team has curated a beverage menu that everyone will enjoy. The menu includes a list of cocktails that will not only satisfy taste buds, but will also surpass expectations on what a cocktail can be. Among the most beautiful is the “Belle”, a rose-infused vodka libation inspired by Beauty and the Beast that’s presented in a glassed belle jar. Carrying through the movie theme, the “Flying Dutchman” pays homage to Pirates of the Caribbean in both its name and presentation – a rum drink poured out of a bottle with a crystal ship inside.
In addition to these specialized drinks, The Green Room also serves classic cocktails, but with a twist. Their martini features olives stuffed with caviar and blue cheese, and their sazerac is modified with a blend of two cognacs typically not used in cocktails. No detail was overlooked in the creation of the lounge’s drink selection.
The same can be said of The Green Room’s food menu. Its array of seafood options include luxury-brand caviar complemented with buckwheat blini, lobster “corn dogs” featuring black truffle popcorn, and a seafood tower with a cornucopia of the ocean.
Along with seafood, the lounge has a playful take on standard dishes. The mozzarella sticks have a charcoal, crisp outside and a spicy heirloom tomato inside, creating the perfect bite. The Pink Brink, a featured entrée, let’s you play chef for the night. Its tableside Himalayan salt block, scorched to 800 degrees, is served alongside Wagyu Carpaccio, which guests cook to their liking right at their table.
To top off the meal, The Green Room has a selection of desserts to satisfy your sweet tooth. The “Molten Lava Chocolate” is a chocolate-lovers heaven, while the “Yellow Submarine!” and “Passion Fruit Cheesecake” are for those who prefer a fruitier, tart taste. If you can’t decide what to order, the “Midnight in Paris” is the perfect choice, offering a lavish array of Chef Marvin’s favorite desserts. From the “Tahitian Vanilla Crème Brûlée” and “Sticky Toffee Pudding” to the “House-made Marshmallows and Macarons”, this dish, as the lounge calls it, is a true grande finale to your evening.
With its upscale aesthetic, VIP service and phenomenal menu, The Green Room will make any night out that much more special. Reservations and upscale attire are required for this intimate experience. To make your reservation, visit: http://www.tgrburbank.com/reservations
