Martial arts celebrities, anime artists, Asian-themed merchandise, and nearly 3,000 spectators are expected to attend the 16th Annual Dragonfest Expo at the Pickwick Gardens Conference Center.
Often referred to as the “ComicCon” for the martial arts, Dragonfest has continued to grow every year. “We outgrew our prior facility, and we have been able to expand to more than 150 Expo vendors this year,” noted Museum President and Dragonfest Director Michael Matsuda.
Numerous Asian performances will fill the weekend with Hawaiian dancing girls, taiko drummers, Thailand dancers, Filipino stick fighting, martial arts demonstrations, and more.
A charity event, Dragonfest is the largest annual fundraiser for the Burbank-based Martial Arts History Museum. 100% of the funds collected will go to support the museum, which is planning on relocating to a much larger facility within the city.
